3D light and stuff? :D

I could possibly make one, but what do you mean "and stuff" :unsure: ? If you mean how to set it up, directional light etc. that could be included. If you mean realtime shadows, then that's a whole different subject (which I will not write upon, as I don't know the math behind it).

If you want, you can have it. Lighting isn't my strongest category (it's my weakest...) but I can still do it. If your good with lighting, you can make it, otherwise I'll make it.

I'll need a little refresher course, but I think I could do it :P If not, I'll let you know ;)

nevermind... I'm not going to have enough time to do it. My dad wants me to paint our house... so I won't be able too :( so Brett if you can do it that would be great ;)

Okay, It may be awhile though, I just picked up a worm virus yesterday that spread to all my comps, so I'm reinstalling windows on them all right now. This is the first one done, but I lose all my previous data etc. So I'll have to repick up gm etc, so like I said I may be awhile :( ...

It started out not being able to run any win32 exe's saying "this is not a valid win32 application" and so I restarted my comp, see if that would fix it and it wouldn't start, it would crash upon starting.

It's sad too, I picked it up over a download on the gmc, not sure which one it was (dl'ed about 20 things) but in one of them was the virus, be careful ;)

I got the same one! It infected my antivirus making it a virus. Had to reinstall windows to fix it! It actually could be over Gm3d or the GMC :o

I hope its not GM3D... :blink:

It shouldn't infect the GM3D, unless someone had something that contain a virus or somethin. gotta be in the files or something. To me, I always make sure my files isn't infected when i upload them.

can someone put all in one tutorials :) dunno from where to start , can someone who know so much about gm 3d to put links of tuts that i need for making my first 3d game...plz :huh:

Dynamic Linked Library (DLL) are like extensions to most (really alot) of programs to help support it and speeds it up too.

I really dont know how to make them. But i think that brett said, and i asked that b4 about how to read dlls and study them, that it's really illegal to do so. but i think that Visual Basic can make dlls, just that i haven't tried that yet.

What exactly do you mean by that?

I recommend for people just starting with 3D Mark Overmars 3D tuts (The person who made GM). It's basically a doom clone, and teaches you how to make it step by step with 6 examples and documentation.

Adding to what I said there before, you can never get the original source back either, because when it is compiled, all formatting is removed, and variables are stripped of their names and replaced with pointers that tell the game where the variable is located in memory.

PS: If you want the source to a GM dll ask the person who made it, you might get lucky and get given the source. This is how I started P3DC.

hmm I made a 3D platformer tutorial. its not that good but it has all the basics. you may edit but you must give me credit. although if you make your own using ideas from mine then I don't require any credit :) were you after something like this Dejsan?

actually, when we was goin to make the tuts, we let them know that it has been delayed to finish it when the virus hit us. of course it was off topic, but still got back on it cause of wat someone requested.

thats a good idea of a 3d space simulation game. i was thinkin of turn my galaxian game into a 3d game. unless u can start off with it xD.
